The Pattern Persists

Image
As soon as the heat came, it went. Since this past Winter, Tim ( Tim's Weather Blog ), has been preaching the consistent NW pattern would stick with us. No matter how much I didn't want to believe him, he was and is correct. My guts told me August and September would be hot, August was for a few days, but overall ended up being the coolest August on record here at OSNW3. I am up for whatever is thrown our way this September (as always), which brings great excitement as September is my most favorite month. The Heat Is On

Just as I suspected. August is repaying us for a cool July. I am certain my weather stations hygrometer isn't the most accurate, but with a reading of a 75.8° dew point and a temperature of 85.8° on Aug 9 there is no denying it was HOT. Temperatures are forecast to be above average for the next seven days and for some of the population out there, "it's finally starting to feel like summer". We had a brief bout with lightning and thunder a few nights ago which brought some 3am excitement. As the storms rolled through during the early morning of Aug 8, the threatening sights and sounds seemed everlasting. Beneficial rain greeted us at observation time which put smiles on all our faces. Here Comes The Heat

It was only a matter of time until the pattern changed and the heat would arrive. It's Summer after all, it will get hot. The highly talked about coolness of July is a thing of the past. The upcoming weekend sees forecast temps in the upper 80's, with a possibility of topping 90. The dew point will be up and it will feel sultry. Dog days of Summer will soon be here... but for how long? No matter! Bring it!
