June Summary

Image
After the first ten days of June, Oshkosh was on pace to become the all-time coolest. At that time, June of 1969 was just one tenth of a degree warmer. Odds of maintaining that type of chill were bleak. Temperatures began to warm as the month moved forward. Half of the final twenty days recorded highs above 80 degrees. In the end 2013 proved no match. Officially Oshkosh finished with a mean temperature of 67 degrees, 7 degrees warmer than 1969. Precipitation totaled 4.36 inches at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is slightly above the 4.17 inch average. Of the 14 days with recorded precipitation, at OSNW3 we noted 6 of these events accompanied thunderstorms. The greatest 24hr total for the month occurred on the 15th when 1.47 inches were recorded. This event was special as all of the rain fell in a 2 hour span between 8 and 10PM.
