The first 20 observed days of September brought nothing to the rain gauge. With that said, September of 2009 is not far behind 2008, continuing the dryness of the past 2 years for the month. Just .08" behind 2008, we are considerably below the Oshkosh average for September ( Annual Precipitation ). Temperatures have been above average for the most part the entire month, but a cool down is in the near forecast. The pleasant beginning to September has crept into the second full week. Plentiful sunshine, comfortable temperatures, and not a drop of precipitation are the conditions that continually grace Northeast WI. The down side to all of this is the lack of precipitation. Currently we here at OSNW3 are in the 3rd longest consecutive streak without precipitation since conception back on Nov 1, 2006. A pleasant beginning to September has greeted all of Northeast Wisconsin. Plentiful sunshine, comfortable temperatures, and not a drop of precipitation. There isn't much to speak of weather wise... only that an abrupt change is forthcoming ... but not until next weekend. I see a few more opprotunities before the growing season comes to an end. Our garden has produced one solid batch of salsa thus far and as September continues onward more batches will be produced. As far as "color", there is plenty of it around giving the landscape a sweet autumn feel.
